about

This version of "Stretcher" is closer to the original demo and my original "vision" for the song, which was long before I recorded the version on "Black Feather Wings". That version on BFW is very good, and it is my most popular track out of everything I've recorded, but we never achieved the vibe I was really going for. During the pandemic I've had ample time to write new material, and take a second look at older material. Since I've been isolated for nearly two years, and haven't been performing budget constraints are tighter than ever. I decided to take on a re-do of "Stretcher" as a means to learn more about engineering, mixing, and production. Unless you are a musician yourself, you may not be aware of all the work (much of it very tedious) that goes into making your favorite songs. It's an epic task for one person. Particularly when you're writing all the material, playing all the parts, and trying to mix it all yourself with a limited budget and lacking proper equipment. So if this sounds lo-fi or amateur to you that's because it is.

Any donations made here, on my Spotify, or directly to me via paypal are greatly appreciated. You can be sure it will go toward anything that can help me make music and make it better for all of you to listen to. I doubt I'll be doing any official crowd sourcing campaign for anything specific anytime soon because I lack the personality to pull it off successfully.

Thank you for listening, and thank you for your support.

-Monique
